Online and phone consultation

  • GP consultations enable you to discuss any non-emergency health related issues with our team of GPs from the comfort of your own home or wherever you are in the world.

This round-the-clock access to a GP has no geographical restrictions and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

This service will put you in touch with a highly trained UK registered GP, who can offer advice and help in a wide variety of situations. This may include general medical advice, treatment of a specific condition, or general travel advice regarding your health, issuing prescriptions (within our prescribing guidelines), issuing private specialist referrals, sick notes and much more.

You can upload images, such as scans, test results or medical reports, which can form an important part of your consultation and the GP will review and discuss these in detail with you.

  • You can also access this service via the Smart Health app, where you can book a slot in seconds and connect via video-consultation with one of our GPs. 
  • Prescription delivery service

With Smart Health, you have the option to have private prescription medicine delivered straight to your front door. The prescription delivery service provides next day delivery nationwide (when ordered before 1pm) and same-day delivery in London (when ordered before 3pm), meaning you can access the prescription medicine you need, without leaving your home. 


Who can use this service?

As an AIG customer, you and your immediate family (partner and children up to the age of 21) get unlimited access to this service at no additional cost – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

There’s no limit to how often you can use this service.

How does it work?

  • You can access a GP via the Smart Health App, enabling you to schedule video consultations or request telephone consultations. Alternatively, you can request a doctor contacts you back by completing the form below.
  • You can book a consultation for all aspects of your health and wellbeing; from discussing symptoms to managing stress or understanding how to improve your overall physical and mental wellbeing.
  • The very first time you book an appointment with us, we will ask for a quick and easy ID verification process, which includes uploading a picture of your driving license or passport and a selfie. This process will be completed within a couple of minutes and will not need to be repeated for any subsequent appointments.


What we don't treat: This is not an emergency service and below are examples of conditions we cannot treat. If you are feeling severely unwell, we advise you to contact your local emergency services (999 in the UK).

Chest pain, shortness of breath, severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, thoughts of suicide or self-harm, confusion, loss of consciousness, severe infection, severe pain, suspected stroke, seizures, pregnancy complications, high fever in unwell infant.
